15-Year Limited Leak Warranty
At a glance:
- This is a limited manufacturer warranty on our pipe only (through-wall leaks from internal corrosion)
- It is not a system warranty and we do not sell insurance to owners/contractors.
- Coverage is defined (conditions + caps/deductible), so owners can budget and contractors can bid confidently.
Availability (Important):
Our 15-Year Limited Leak Warranty is issued only for Warranty-Qualified Projects (WQPs) completed under our corrosion-control program, after we receive the full acceptance documentation package. Purchasing our pipe under Open Purchase does not automatically include the 15-year owner warranty.
15-Year Limited Leak Warranty:(Warranty-Qualified Projects)
This page summarizes our 15-Year Limited Leak Warranty.
This summary is for convenience only. Full terms and conditions are set out in our written 15-Year Limited Leak Warranty.
- What's covered: Through-wall leaks caused by internal corrosion (including MIC) in our clean-interior steel fire sprinkler pipe installed in wet sprinkler systems, for 15 years from handover. The warranty applies only to our pipe, not to sprinklers, valves, fittings, nitrogen equipment, or any other components.
- Who receives the warranty: For each Warranty-Qualified Project (WQP), we issue a project-specific 15-year limited leak warranty certificate directly to the building owner. The installing fire protection contractor can be named on the certificate as applicable.
- What's required (program conditions): The system must: - Be designed and installed in accordance with NFPA 13 and applicable standards. - Use our UL & cUL listed clean-interior steel fire sprinkler pipe in wet systems. - Achieve and document low-oxygen handover (WPNI — supplied by Tyco, ECS, Potter, or equivalent) showing O₂ ≤ 2% at representative high points. - Include NFPA 13 air venting at high points. - Be maintained in accordance with NFPA 25, with annual oxygen spot checks and re-inerting after major water additions or significant system modifications, all documented by a qualified fire protection contractor. - Follow our Debris-Free Easy Installation guidelines.
- How we remedy (pipe only): If a qualifying leak is confirmed in our pipe during the warranty period, the repair will be carried out by the fire protection contractor that installed the system (or another qualified contractor agreed by the owner and us if the original installer is unavailable). For each qualifying leak, we will, at no charge: - supply to the installing fire protection contractor one (1) standard length of replacement pipe of the same or equivalent specification as the affected pipe segment; and - as a labor allowance, pay or credit that contractor an amount equal to the then-current list price of two (2) standard lengths of pipe of the same specification. The value of the replacement pipe and the labor allowance counts toward the caps described below.
- What's not covered: Freeze damage, impact, seismic movement, water hammer/over-pressure, external corrosion, incompatible chemicals, non-compliant installation, lack of NFPA 25 maintenance, failure to maintain low-oxygen conditions after major water additions, or leaks in components not supplied by us.
- Limits & Deductible: - Deductible: US$500 per incident. - Per-incident cap: the lesser of 10% of our invoiced pipe value for the project or any fixed amount specified in the project certificate. - Project aggregate cap (15-year total): the lesser of 30% of our invoiced pipe value for the project or any fixed amount specified in the project certificate.
- Covered-scope integrity (No Mixing Rule): All wet-system piping within the covered scope identified in the project certificate shall be FireSprinklerPipe.com clean-interior UL & cUL listed steel fire sprinkler pipe (Program Pipe). Use of non-FireSprinklerPipe.com pipe within the covered scope, including in any modification, repair, or addition, is prohibited unless approved in writing by the manufacturer and may void coverage in the affected area.
We maintain product liability insurance (including products/completed operations). Certificates of insurance are available upon request. This insurance does not extend or replace our written limited leak warranty.
